If you have spare tiles we will use those for shower repairs, we can supply tiles from Bunnings & our usual suppliers but it is difficult to match tiles due to them being discontinued.
Superior Sealed is happy to supply tiles for small jobs and shower repairs.
If you would like a close match to your current tiles, we recommend you order your tiles yourself and have them ready on site when we arrive to begin the work.
Superior Sealed takes no responsibility for tiles that do not match due to styles no longer being produced as well as being created in ‘batches’ which have shade variations.
We do not supply tiles for large jobs, as they will need to be ordered in by the owner and delivered to site. You can visit tile shops or browse online and order the tiles.
Most tilers will attend site and the tiles be on site ready to tile.
FOR LEAKING SHOWERS, BALCONIES, TILE REPAIRS / REPLACEMENT:
We always recommend that the property owner selects the tile, or supplies the tile if you do not have spare tiles available on site. It is extremely difficult to find the same tile, if not impossible, as tile colours are discontinued.
That said, we are happy to supply tiles and many investment properties and home owners understand that it is significantly cheaper to repair the shower than to do a full bathroom renovation, and a non-exact matching tile can be required.
New batches of tiles have a different batch number, which have a different shading to other batches – so even if you do find the same tile, it is possible there will be shade variation still. We recommend ordering more boxes of tiles than you need, and to keep spares in storage.
We can supply tiles for small jobs and shower repairs, however due to the colour variations in tiles (this is due to the tiles being ‘cooked in an oven’ when made) we take no responsibility for tiles that do not match due to age or shade variation. If we supply the tile, it must come from one of our regular tile suppliers and it may not be possible to get the same size, colour, shade, or thickness of the original tile used.
Potential Additional Costs
Rotten Subfloor – Carpenter may be required to replace at own expense.
Termites – Termites love moisture! If we find signs, we will let you know.
Shower Screens – Some shower screens can not be re-fitted due to age, condition or design. There is always risk a new shower screen may be required.
If there is plumbing in the screed or close to the edge of render or sheeting in a wall that we aren’t aware of (very rare) this can incur the call out of a plumber to rectify damage to pipes, or to install a new waste pipe in the shower recess.
Sometimes you will require a carpenter, renderer or gyprocker (or other trades) to attend before we can complete our work – we always let you know as soon as we discover anything of importance.

For small jobs & shower repairs, we recommend counting the current tiles in the area and estimating, assuming you are using a same size tile or similar.
Always purchase extra tiles! It is better to have spares left over for a later date, than to not have enough tiles.
Not having enough tiles causes lengthy delays and can incure additional expense for extra site visits.
Always be sure to allow for breakage, off cuts and incidents. Aim for 15-20% extra than you need. For small jobs and shower repairs, 3-5 spare tiles minimum to allow for breakage.

Floor & Bottom Row Shower Repair (Tile Removal – Shower Recess Only)
Effective, repaired at source and allows some protection for movement. Multiple layers of protection under time and epoxy sealed on completion. Tile removal options allow us to add new fall to waste to ensure the water leaves the area quickly.
Cons – Not possibly to match most tiles if you do not have spares, so there will be some shade variation. 24-48 hours of drying time required before, and after the service.
Affordable, fast, non-invasive and completed in just a few hours, with minimal down time.
Epoxy is not flexible. Silicone should be applied to the corner junctions to allow for some movement. Sometimes considered a ‘band-aid’ solution. 24-48 hours of drying time required before, and after the service.
Clear Over-Tile Membrane
Flexible, provides good cover for movement.
Really fast, non-invasive and affordable.
Cons – Changes the appearance of the area slightly, feels rough to walk on and its difficult to use heavy furniture and seats. 24-48 hours of drying time required before, and after the service.
In this industry, some companies claim to have an exclusive product that only they have access to.
This is similar to a paint company claiming to have an exclusive paint, or a bricklayer claiming to have access to an exclusive sand!

The Department of Fair Trading Guide – Warranty for Trade Services: 6 Years from date of completion. Warranty applies only after payment is received in full.
Every job is different, and a different warranty is offered depending on the type of service and the option you choose.
In this industry, some companies advertise to have up to a 25 year warranty – It is important that you understand the difference between a service and a product warranty.
All products have their own warranties, including ours. We provide warranties that are honest and in line with the recommendations of the department of Fair Trading.
We don’t think its fair that some companies try to trick you into thinking you have a warranty when you don’t – so we don’t operate that way. We offer transparency.

No tile removal options include epoxy sealing or clear membrane sealing.
Epoxy sealing is slightly cheaper than the clear membrane, but it is not as flexible as the clear membrane.
The epoxy seal does rejuvenate the appearance of the shower more so than the clear membrane, but the clear membrane is highly flexible, fast and non-invasive – suitable for much more showers and comes warrantied.
The tile removal option includes the removal of the floor and bottom row, repairing the membrane and re-tiling – if you do not have spare tiles then you will need to use a different tile as it is not possible to match most tiles.

We are happy to accept cash on completion, and can also arrange for Eftpos facilities through Square. Please let us know in advance if you would like to pay my eftpos so that we can bring the equipment with us.
Payment is due immediately on completion of service.
LATE PAYMENT POLICY
We have a very strict debt collection policy and payment is due on day of completion of service.
Unpaid invoices will be referred to a debt collection agency, which may show as a mark on your credit history and affect your ability to get loans in the future.
